Nancy Paterson, PhD, AOCA has been an instructor at the Ontario College of Art & Design since 1990, teaching a variety of studio and theoretical courses; currently she is teaching 'Time-Based Media'. She is Facilities Manager at Charles Street Video, a non-profit, artist-run centre providing production and post-production facilities for digital video and audio.

Grants have been awarded from the federal & provincial arts councils, both for specific projects and for creative development of new media projects including: video installations, kinetic sculptures, interactive video, net-art, 3D compter-graphic and immersive environments. Current research in the area of network studies entitled 'IXmaps: Mapping Internet Interconnection' [] is funded by the federal Office of Privacy Commissioner (OPC) ending in the summer 2013.

Professional Affiliations/Boards Juries

Nancy Paterson has acted as a consultant regarding new media to many groups including the Board of Directors of Telefilm and the Department of Canadian Heritage. She is currently faculty representative and Chair of the Pension Committee at OCADU.
